*WLK CARES DEEPLY ABOUT THE SAFETY OF OUR VOLUNTEERS, FOSTERS, ADOPTERS, AND DOGS. WE ARE CONTINUING TO FOLLOW PROPER SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS*
Meet Kona. She is a very pretty girl that loves being outside, going on walks, and lying on a warm, comfy bed. In the past, Kona has had a hard time controlling her impulses, but she recently completed a three-week board-and-train where she made tremendous improvements. She is specifically prong and e-collar trained, and we would like for her to go to a home with an owner who will continue with that type of training.
We would like to have Kona adopted into an environment that is calm and structured to give her the best advantage of maintaining everything she has learned. When she is put into situations with too much stimuli, it can be overwhelming for her, so her new owner must consistently be very aware of her surroundings. It is also important that Kona be given her space when she asks for it.
Kona is an “alert” dog and will need to be reminded that she is allowed to relax. The “double down” command helps calm her, and she is a Rockstar at it!
Kona is also a timid girl that needs slow instructions; her foster mom calls her a “deercat” dog! It took her a little while to warm up to her foster mom and her foster fur siblings, but she is now doing very well with them. She also has an amazing heel-walk and will do great as a running buddy! Kona is a great dog that just needs to learn that she is loved and protected.
We would like to have Kona adopted around the Baltimore area. She will come up to date on her shots, microchipped, and spayed.
*If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an online application. We will then contact you to conduct a home visit and, once you are approved, a $100 deposit is required.*
