Jasper is an extremely affectionate guy who loves to be around his family. He can be playful with his toys, but he is generally a low-key dog that enjoys going on walks, looking out the window, and hanging out with his family.

While Jasper is a real sweetheart and loyal companion to his family, he is very protective of them and his household. He is a nervous dog that is fearful of new in-home guests and does not like being forced into meeting new people at his home. He would do best in a quiet home with an experienced owner who will provide him with a safe space and guidance. 

Jasper attended a month-long “Board and Train” with follow-up group training classes. He is trained to a “mini-educator” brand of e-collar and knows all of his basic commands. Jasper sleeps well in his crate, does not beg for people food, and is house trained. 

Jasper walks well on a leash, in the “heel” position until his person tells him it is okay to walk ahead. While walking, he does not react towards animals like deer, bunnies, and squirrels, but he is sometimes reactive to other leashed dogs. This is easily corrected with the e-collar.

Jasper would do best in a home without kids or other pets. We would also like for his new home to have a fenced yard where he can run and play.

We would like to have Jasper adopted around the Baltimore area. He will come up to date on his shots, neutered, and microchipped.
