This is Koko, a Welsh Corgi mix. Koko is a real gentleman that loves belly rubs!
Koko recently spent a few weeks with a trainer. His trainer writes:
“I began working with Koko after he was returned by his previous owner who deemed him to be aggressive. I can say, though, that he is not aggressive; instead, he was acting entitled and insecure and sought to take control of certain situations.
I worked with Koko on general obedience as well as on his mindset. He walks nicely on a leash, is potty trained, and knows general commands. Koko did well on walks with my dog and other dogs. However, he did get growly when an unknown dog invaded his space while on a leash.
Koko does well with adults and will often plop down and offer his belly for a good rub. He also did well with 4-year-old child of a friend of mine, and very gently took treats from him. I would be cautious, though, with very young children as they tend to not always act respectfully towards dogs. Koko would do well in a home with other dogs, but his new owners should introduce the dogs slowly and appropriately.
Koko requires rules, structure, and discipline and his new owner must be someone who will continue to work with him on them. Overall, Koko is a great dog! He just needs an owner with whom he can have a healthy, balanced relationship.”
Koko recently came to one of our Adoption Events and did very well with the other available dogs and with the people that he met. Koko loves car rides and going on walks. We would like to have him adopted around the Baltimore area. He will come up to date on his shots, neutered, and microchipped.
If you are interested in adopting Koko please fill out an online application. We will then contact you to conduct a home visit and, once you are approved, a $100 deposit is required.
